TELS Design Criteria

The TELS Community has established a set of criteria for research and development. These criteria are used as a basis for evaluating TELS curriculum projects:

  • Design is based on cognitive research findings and studies in diverse classrooms
  • Each project addresses central topics in the science curriculum for which they offer unique advantages
  • Each project design is consistent with the TELS Community research agenda and curriculum framework
  • Each project provides embedded student assessments
  • Each project exploits the ability of technology to create models, simulations, and tools of unprecedented power
